New story headline and photos of artist and skulls painting with newspaper masthead

Skulls Make News! 💀 🧡

I'm thrilled to announce that my skulls watercolor, The Killing Field, is a hit!

A leading journalist learned about this painting and wrote a big article about it in this week's edition of the Southwest Regional Publishing newspapers - including some great photos from the opening night reception for The Mystical, The Magical, & The Macabre show.

I'm astonished and joyful for this recognition.

As an artist, it's so gratifying to see others connect with my paintings in a deep way...and to know that even more people will have the opportunity to experience my art, thanks to such wonderful press coverage.

Opening Reception Fun

We had such a great evening at the reception last weekend.

A big thank you to everyone who attended!

And if you live out of town or were unable to come, some of the pictures from that night are in the article - so you can experience it for yourself through story and images. 😀

My heartfelt thanks to you for being with me in spirit at every single show, whether you attend in person or virtually by wishing me well and reading all about each event.

And if you're in the area or will be visiting Chicago this fall, you can check out The Killing Field in person through end of day November 7 at the Bridgeport Art Center!

Thank You

Thank you for being part of this adventure! I'm so happy to share so much fun news with you!

Oh Michael, what a beautiful reflection. Thank you for viewing my painting, reading about it, and taking time to post such a thoughtful comment. I appreciate it very much.

We always complain about too little time. But Anne, your work The Killing Field beautifully moves us to consider the frighteningly eternal stillness of too much time.

Dear, dear Anne, thank you for your thoughtful, heartfelt comment. I so appreciate hearing from you and am deeply touched reading your comment.

This haunting painting by Anne Nordhaus-Bike brings surely back the horror I experienced in watching the movie, “The Killing Fields,” which was about the terrible reign of Pol Pot in Cambodia. She captured it in a unique manner, and it is indeed “at home” among the other paintings of skulls and other ghoulish subjects.
